Just Uploaded a New TH67 Quizzer

Posted on 26th August 2008 by Rob in Flight School, News - Tags: , , ,

Well two days ago I was contacted by WO1 Dunlap, he created in his spare time a web version of the 5 and 9 quizzer with blanks to help students learn those sections of the TH67. So I placed it online and it is available to download or run off the GoMotherRucker server. Pretty good program and if you happen to see this person make sure you thank him.

We’re always accepting quizzers that can help students learn. It all started with Goodspeed’s Python Program Quizzer, and we’ve been adding some ever since then.

Well in other news we’re working with creating a live video feed. Who knows why but it seems pretty neat. We’re setting it up through www.justin.tv so if you happen to come across this site you can go to www.justin.tv/gomotherrucker. Right now all we have playing on there are army videos and skits we did while in Iraq.

Until next time!

Just Going with the Flow…

Posted on 23rd August 2008 by Rob in Flight School - Tags: , ,

Well two weeks ago it there was a rumor that everyone that selected the 47 was going to reselect another aircraft. That rumor turned into a reality this past Thursday,  23 Aug 2008. But I’m an easy going person who “goes with the flow” of things.

So all us former future Chinook pilots marched up the stairs to go see what was available to choose from. And there it was a guy standing with a white board with tick-marks of what what we had to choose from. Even though we were re doing this reselection because the Army said that they are putting Chinooks classes on hold,  the white board had 6 to choose from. However they were gone in the first 7 rounds, leaving me to choose either AH-64 Apache or the OH-58 Kiowi. I decided to go with the AH-64 Apache. I’m not upset with my decision nor upset that we had to choose again, I guess that is just my personality. I think all aircraft that we have to select are great and I feel privledged that I’m given the oppertunity to fly them.

Life Lock is it worth it?

Being in the Military our Social Security Number (SSN) is passed around so much it’s like it isn’t anything. Seems like every form needs that number and we are all writing it down because it’s a required piece of information. It’s how most of our documents are tracked right? And who knows when that leave form is submitted that it really gets shred or those rosters that are stored on a thumb drive is lost. It happens! I think this is a great service and it turns out to only be $9.99 a month or ($110/Yr) and $2.50 a month per child ($25/Yr).

You can go to the website by clicking the photo above this paragraph and check out the video where he gets interviewed by the Today Show on how his identity did get stolen and how the system did work. I’m pretty sure that everyone has seen the commercials of the guy that has his SSN posted on buses, cars, and anything really that is out in the open just taunting people to try to steal his identity. Apparently he has had multiple attempts of getting his identity stolen and one did get through. But LifeLock was able to correct the problem, to me that shows confidence in the system.

Check out the youtube video below and see how a reporter tried to open up credit with his number.

You’ll find out on there that some of the services that they provide you can do by yourself and for free. But knowing that LifeLock will hire attorneys, investigators, case workers, or whatever it takes to clear a theft is a very nice feature. According to their website LifeLock currently has over one million subscribers. Of these, only 105 people have had to use LifeLock’s $1million total service guarantee. That’s about one thousandth of one percent -  much better odds than non-subscribers. The CEO has had plenty of attempts to steal his identity. Not a single one is recorded on his credit report nor has he suffered any harm from them. But like one customer said it’s like hiring a lawn mowing service, yeah I can cut the grass myself but how much is my time worth?

Become a Zap Grabbin Fool

Posted on 25th July 2008 by Rob in Great Infomation to Know - Tags: , , ,

Well today’s vlog is about ZapGrab, and it’s a pretty easy tool to use. You don’t have to have much computer knowledge in order to know how to use it. It’s basically a screen grabber, what ever you see on your screen you highlight a box around it and it grabs it. When you select the area that you want to grab and release the mouse it stores it into memory awaiting for you to paste it into a doc, email, photo-shop, or something of that nature. Keep in mind you can only grab one thing at a time for it to be stored into memory. And once you click the “Exit” button your “Grab” is no longer in memory. Enjoy the video and thanks for checking out our blog.
